The cambelt is one of the most important parts of your engine. Its job is to open and close the engine valves to allow fuel to enter the engine where it ignites and creates exhaust. It’s therefore very important that you have it checked regularly, most manufacturers recommend you get it replaced every 40,000-60,000 miles, or about every 5 years.
